Diakoniewerk EDV-Werkstätte Hagenberg

Since the middle of January there has been a new tenant at Hagenberg Software Park’s IT centre: the Hagenberg computer workshop run by the Gallneukirchen church welfare services. Work is more than about making money – work is an important part in all our lives, which is particularly true for people with disabilities! Therefore, the church welfare services do their best to offer places which employ and occupy people with disabilities, in accordance with their individual needs and abilities, as well as their preferences and potential. The intention is to find workplaces for a maximum of 15 disabled people at the computer workshop in Hagenberg. The plan is for them to assume office and typing tasks. The scope of the actual range of tasks can unfortunately not yet be determined – at the moment it is a question of settling in, getting to know one another and finding out what type of work can generally be taken on. What is more, there is still a shortage of key equipment such as a digital camera, laminating machine and a guillotine, so that jobs can also be taken on by female clients. The team of female employees is made of good stuff, however, and its strengths and abilities are sure to develop well.
